FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Skibbereen Mini Stages Preparation

God, where do I start?

Well, the gang are out in force for the Skibbereen Mini Stages, with Cars 116, 159 & 161 all carrying the Red Mist banner (we don't have any stickers yet!) The rest of the gang will be either stuck in service (trying to figure which end of a spanner to hold), stuck in a double "O" car (I can hear the abuse allready) or stuck in the stage marshalling.

So, where to begin with the scandal........

Camper was to navigate, but due to the large head or large head of hair, he couldn't get a helmet big enough (it wasn't due to the Don King impression with the hair). So, Mr Lynch was drafted in at the last minute. Mr Lynch has never navigated before, and gets his rights and lefts mixed up. In his defence, he usually services Ice-Cream's little red fun bus, so he probably knows how to hold a spanner.

The Story of "The Flying Snot"..... As all regular readers know, Big T had some slight gearbox trouble in West Cork this year (here for the story). Finally, last night, thanks to "cousin Brian" & Big Sean, the car was again mobile! If anybody wants the story of fitting the box, set aside a full hour for the tale.

The Flying Snot, in all it's glory, returning after the test session

BUT, after the test session, there was a "slight vibration". Big T said that "it's all right", but Mr Lynch, insisted on a final spanner check being done. While on the lift, it was discovered that the driveshaft was a fraction too long, and when it turned, it sent a vibration through the engine. Big T's solution, in typical Red Mist style, was to reach for the angle grinder and cut the shaft down to size. Mr Lynch's solution was to measure the driveshafts in other Toyotas and find one that fits. He's far too smart for his own good.........

Bun Bun, Ice-Cream & Steak have gone to ground, and are refusing to reveal any details of the progress on the car preparation. But, I have my methods, and I'll get the info soon, or else I'll make it up as usual.
