FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
It was a poor night all round for the Red Mist team on Cork Motor Club's 1000 Shakes. Big T & The Councillor were out in Big T's Mondeo road car (no sump guard, no spots, no nothing!) and Camper & The Works Navi were out in the AX.
The Onion didn't make it out as the yoke wasn't taxed, so Big T & The Councillor were going to have an interesting night cutting time points. The AX made it down to the HQ in one piece, which was a miracle.
The night started well for Big T & The Councillor, as they missed the first 4 timepoints! Camper found them, but managed to get wrong approaches on most of them! The rest of the first half was spent getting lost, avoiding massive potholes and having a laugh.
However, two hours into the event, The Works Navi got sick, and badly sick at that stage. We struggled on to petrol, where the break did him well. Big T was giving out stink at petrol, but as he had a diesel car, spent the break laughing at us filling our cars!
Shortly after the restart, and after time point 107, Camper had to leave the car for a quick throw-up. At that stage, with both members feeling not at 100%, they called it a night, and went home. However, as the second half of the event had been scrapped at results time, we actually classified as a finisher! (on 241 penalties!)
Big T & The Councillor finished on 126 penalties, and tied with Michael Murphy & Pat Cashman, who got the higher placing through engine CC!
Other Red Mist members out were Steak, Dell and Mol (aka Pippi) who were marshalling. Quinny, as assistant COC, spent the night with a phone welded to his ear! Norrie Rallying's Johnny Ryan & Ken Carmody finished on 46 penalties while James O'Brien (co-driver for Andrew Nesbitt), driving for a change, finished third in class.
More results and scandal can be got from Cork Motor Club.
